The Works Studio Ltd. – Cambridgeshire

We feel we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, since we opened in Febuary 2012 we have been working solidly to build more studio space, studio two is now finished.

Studio One is very near completion, the structure of the infinity cove is finished and the cove has been plastered and the floor laid with a coat of hard self levelling compound, we are now waiting for the weather to warm up a little so it all dries out and we can paint every thing white. we are hoping the studio will be operational by Friday 25th May 2012

We have started to move over to our new ISP, if you are reading this, it’s being hosted by them, we had to sack 123-reg.com in the end because they were totally incapable of hosting a WordPress site and their support was atrocious, we had been using them for nearly 10 years and in the past had been very happy with their service, however when we started to use WordPress they simply could not provide a stable platform.

We have started to move our files across and will move the domain when this site is running properly. When it’s all sorted we will be able to offer a few more services including hosting for photographers and models websites.

Sorry not had much time or indeed much to report for a few weeks, other than to say the studio is progressing quite well.   As is nearly always the case we are slightly behind schedule, but that’s pretty standard. Studio Two is finished and now in regular service. Studio One phase one is near completion, we are about to put the plasterboard up and give it the final plaster skim, and hope if should be ready for painting towards the end of the week, we really need some warm weather now to dry out the concrete. Due to the delays we have only built a little over half the infinity cove as we decided we needed to have a cove ASAP and will be adding the second half on over the next few weeks, having said that the cove is 17ft x 15ft in a room 33ft x 33ft so plenty of space for most projects the addition will almost double the width of the cove. Now the first phase of the build (studio one & two) is coming to a close we have turned of minds to the second phase which is Studio Three, this name is slightly misleading as in fact it’s not going to be a single studio, it’s a complex of studios with different sets, currently we think we will have up to six areas with different sets, these will be proper sets and not just a few props dumped in a corner.  The size of Studio Three is 1300sq/ft (20ft x 65ft) making it bigger than most of the other studios round Cambridgeshire on it’s own, and in conjunction with the other studios the whole complex is  nearly 4,300sq/ft.
